Macaroni and Cheese

At long last… Macaroni and Cheese is now available in the Student Center! Just add hot water from the coffee machine, stir it up, let it sit, and enjoy!

Succulent Garden

Coming soon to the library is the Student Government succulent garden! Each grade will have their own garden full of succulents in pots contributed by our amazing art students! Thank you to Ayo O. 21’, Alice W. 20’, Blake P. 21’, and Kimberly L. 21’! You will be able to put name tags onto the pots with your names, inside jokes, or anything that you feel represents you as a grade! Make your grade’s garden exceptional!

Sophomore Fun Night

Sophomores! Are you looking for something to do on March 5th? Sophomore Fun Night is your answer! Come to the WCC and Student Center after school for fun, games, movies, and friends!

Land ACKNOWLEDGEMENT project

Student Government is currently organizing a project that will educate everyone about the land that our school is built on, and that will properly acknowledge the Coast Salish people.

 

Lakeside lip dub

Videos aimed at bringing all parts of Lakeside into one. It's a music video where students, staff, administrators, and teachers mouth the words along with some fun choreography. Hopefully as many Lakesiders as possible can be apart of it!

 
 

bench duty and wcc backpack publicity

Fix the issue of students leaving backpacks in the doorway and raise publicity concerning bench duty (i.e. people should show up!)

Service fair - 12/5/19

Stud Gov successfully organized a Service Fair, a way for the Student Body to advocate for organizations they were passionate about.

Parking clarity

Parking in Stinson has been a controversial issue. We took a poll, and decided that the direction that students will be driving in Stinson is… Counter-Clockwise! When you enter Stinson, turn right!

Clubs fair

Lakeside successfully completed their annual clubs fair that allows students to sign up for clubs and pursue their interests!

recycling bins

In Bliss and Moore, there used to be a lack of recycling bins that was inconvenient to students, the maintenance crew, and the environment. We made a change, and now there are recycling bins throughout both buildings, making everyone’s lives easier!

ping pong tables

Earlier this year, the Ping Pong tables were put away in storage. Student Government did something about it. WE BROUGHT THEM BACK!!

Red square lights

To make the holiday season more festive, there are now holiday lights on the trees in Red Square! Stud Gov just wanted to put a little bit more light in your lives! Thanks to Jude S. 21’ for bringing this project to Stud Gov!

StressBusters!

This year, we have had several Stressbusters - one every month so far. These events have included a September Stressbuster of (Aidan, Vincent, and Dylan), an October Stressbuster of candy corn and hot chocolate (Jack, Aidan, and Mikaela), a November Stressbuster of crosswords and lemonade, a December Stressbuster including festive hot chocolate with candycanes and marshmallows (Mikaela B, Poppy H, and Olivia D), and a January Stressbuster including cookies and hot chocolate to bring in the new year! Stay tuned for more fun and stress-free events!

New Snacks for the WCC

To add some excitement to the WCC, this year we added pirate booty and Instant Mac and Cheese! Be expecting these new snacks to all be in the WCC after mid-winter break!

Junior Fun Night

The junior representatives made a unifying event for the class of 2021, which was called Junior Fun Night!

Bite of Lakeside

This year, Stud Gov hosted the annual Bite of Lakeside again! This was be an event that will provide delicious food and treats to students, and provided funding for clubs to run and do amazing things!

Hunger Games Movie Marathon

Student Government and Ms. Zinda hosted a Hunger Games movie marathon! We were able to help bring the student body together!

Harry Potter Movie Marathon

In January, Student Government and Ms. Zinda hosted a three day Harry Potter movie Marathon. This included invitations, a complete redecoration of the Student Center and many yummy snacks!
